| Thing people mean by ads | On PLAI.chat? | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Banner, display, or pop-up ads | No | No ad network scripts and no ad slots on the chat or on these pages. |
| “Watch an ad to get more messages” | No | More free messages come from a free email sign-in, not from watching ads. |
| Sponsored answers or paid placements in replies | No | Nobody pays PLAI.chat to appear in answers; replies come from the AI model you chose. One thing to know: when you ask for a task breakdown, kanban, or whiteboard, the AI builds it as a board on cnvs.app, a whiteboard app from the same developer, and for other board-like answers it may offer one. |
| Promotion of the developer’s own products | Yes | The Apps menu in the header and an “Also from CODER AI” footer row on the start screen link to other apps from the same developer (such as cnvs.app and maxcv.ai), and the start screen offers PLAI’s own Slack and Microsoft Teams apps. These are our own products; nobody pays to be listed. |
| Analytics and other scripts | Yes | PLAI.chat pages use Google Analytics to count visits and measure how the site is used. A Cloudflare Turnstile bot check runs when you start an anonymous chat or sign in. The app also loads the Apps menu and a feedback form from the developer’s own domain, coderai.dev. |
Free AI chat sites have to be paid for somehow — often with ads or a monthly subscription. PLAI.chat uses neither. Free models are free to you. Paid models such as GPT, Claude, and Gemini are billed per message from credit you add after a free email sign-in, so the people who use expensive models are the ones who pay for them. There is no monthly subscription.
The full rules are on the unlimited AI chat page.
An ad-free chat still runs on servers you do not control, so here is what happens to your messages. Your chat history is saved in your browser's local storage, not in a PLAI.chat server archive. Each message is relayed via OpenRouter to the provider of the model that answers it, and free models may log prompts under their own policies. Keep sensitive personal details out of prompts. More on this: private AI chat and anonymous AI chat.
Yes. PLAI.chat shows no third-party banner, pop-up, or video ads, and nobody pays to appear in its replies. You can start with no account, and free models cost nothing.
Yes, for free models. Without an account you get, by default, 20 messages per day per browser. A free email sign-in adds a $1 welcome credit, and while your balance is at least $0.05 there is no PLAI.chat daily cap on free models. Paid models such as GPT, Claude, and Gemini are pay-per-use.
From optional pay-per-use credits: people who choose paid models pay for the messages they send. There is no monthly subscription and no advertising.
Not here. PLAI.chat has no ads, but its pages use Google Analytics to count visits, a Cloudflare Turnstile bot check runs when you start an anonymous chat or sign in, and the app loads an Apps menu and a feedback form from the developer’s domain, coderai.dev. Your chat history is stored in your browser, and each message is relayed via OpenRouter to the model provider that answers it.
Only for the developer’s own products: an Apps menu in the header, an “Also from CODER AI” footer row, and PLAI’s own Slack and Microsoft Teams apps. When you ask for a task breakdown or a whiteboard, the AI builds a board on cnvs.app, a sister app, and for other board-like answers it may offer one. Nobody pays to be listed or to appear in answers.
